Emma Lewis honoured for services to the arts.
Leading gynaecologist's work recognised
Award-winning author Emma Lewis has been awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours for her services to the arts.
The curator at Tate Modern and author of Photography: A Feminist History, was recognised for her work shining a light on overlooked feminist histories.
Emma said: "I'm incredibly honoured to receive this award. It's a testament to the power of art to change the world.
"I hope that my work will continue to inspire others to challenge the status quo and fight for a more just and equitable society."
Emma's work has been praised for its rigour, scholarship and originality. She has been described as "a leading light in the field of feminist art history".
She is a regular contributor to The Guardian and The New York Times, and her work has been featured in exhibitions at the Tate Modern, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Emma is a passionate advocate for the arts and believes that they have the power to change lives.
She said: "Art can challenge our assumptions, open our minds, and inspire us to create a better world."
