Boston Blows Out Dallas 107-89
Porzingis Returns for Celtics
The Boston Celtics have taken a 1-0 lead in the NBA Finals after defeating the Dallas Mavericks 107-89 in Game 1 on Thursday night. The Celtics were led by Kristaps Porzingis, who returned from a calf injury to score 20 points, including 18 in the first half.
The Celtics jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, leading by as many as 22 points in the first half. Porzingis was a key part of the Celtics' offense, hitting 8-of-15 from the field, including 2-of-4 from three-point range. He also grabbed 8 rebounds and had 3 blocks.
The Mavericks were led by Luka Dončić, who scored 24 points but shot just 9-of-24 from the field. Porzingis was able to slow down Dončić, who had just 5 points in the first half.
The Celtics will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when they host the Mavericks in Game 2 on Sunday night. The Mavericks will need to make some adjustments if they want to avoid going down 0-2 in the series.
